State Vs. Waheed Ullah (Acquittal)
On 27-09-2021 a case titled State Vs. Waheed Ullah Khan pending before ASJ-Ehsan Ullah Qureshi was decided in our favor. Our Managing Associate Babar Khan Durrani was pursuing the case on behalf of our client. Prof. Nasir Ali Vs. Government of KP & others

Today our Senior Partner Ali Gohar Durrani in an Execution Petition before the Honorable Services Tribunal pleaded a case on behalf of Prof. Nasir Ali. After hearing arguments the Honorable Chairman Khybe Pakhtunkhwa Services Tribunal was pleased to direct that the Secretary Higher Education shall issue orders in line with the judgment of the Services Tribunal and not otherwise. It is imperative to note that our office had challenged the transfer of Prof. Nasir Ali from Peshawar to Mardan, which was strike down by the Tribunal.
Dr. Adil Zareef & others Vs. Federation of Pakistan & others
07/09/2021A bench of the Honorable Peshawar High Court headed by Mr. Justice Rooh ul Amin Khan alongside Mrs. Justice Mussarat Hilali have sought complete progress reports on the corruption scandals of Malamjaba Ski Resort, Billion Trees Tsunami and Bank of Khyber case from NAB. The bench was hearing a Pro Bono Petition filed by Dr. Adil Zareef and others through our Senior Partner Ali Gohar Durrani. The Petition has been brought seeking directions from the Court for NAB to act in accordance with NAO and not on the basis of cherry picking. The court has also been asked to issue directions to hold those officials of NAB accountable who have been guilty of giving undue favors in withholding the accountability process against those involved in these scandals. The bench had noted with displeasure that orders of the court whereby there were clear directions given to Nab to continue their investigation in case of Malamjaba Ski Resort case. The said directions have been taken by NAB to be a restraint on NAB from proceeding further in the case. The court was also appraised that those at the helm of affairs are being spared and others are apprehended who don’t toe the line. The court thereafter adjourned the matter to 05/10/2021 for submission of the progress report for decision thereon.

Muhammad Jamshed Baghwan Vs. Govt. of KP & others

A bench of the Honorable Peshawar High Court headed by Mr. Justice S.M. Atique Shah alongside Mr. Justice Syed Arshad Ali has issued notices to the Government of KP, Deputy Commissioner Peshawar and CCPO Peshawar in respect of the blockage of Khyber Road near Provincial Assembly. A pro bono Petition has been brought by our Senior Partner Ali Gohar Durrani on behalf of seasoned journalist Mr. Muhammad Jamshed Baghwan. The Petition has laid down that per the Constitution of Pakistan under Article 15 the right to freedom of movement of the public cannot be brought to an end with the protest of a handful of people who block the road near Provincial Assembly creating chaos for patients, elderly, children and woman. References have been made to various judgments of the Peshawar High Court, Islambad High Court, Supreme Court of Pakistan, Indian Supreme Court as well as judgments from the United Kingdom. The Honorable bench after hearing preliminary arguments admitted the Petition for regular hearing and sought reply from the respondents.
